Grandma Dalley's funeral was on Sat Jan 10. 2009. I think it is an important step in a childs life to learn about death. I know they don't fully understand the whole process but i find it interesting to see what questions they ask. After the family prayer we had an opportunity to go up and say goodbye to grandma. I hate to go up and say goodbye, but my 9 year old son said dad lets go say doodbye. I got in line waiting for our turn to stop and say goodbye. Dylan changed his mind and didn't want to go up. My little Hannah marched right up with Aunt Trissa and just looked and was very repectful.
I was a pallbearer for grandma dalley after the funeral I and the other pallbearers met outside near the funeral coach to lift the casket in. We moved the casket in and had a few moments before we departed for the cemetary. I went in and was talking to the kids and dylan ask "dad what did you do with the crate?" I asked "what crate?" Dylan responded "the crate with great grandma in it." I chuckled...
